Compiles the static site from source directories.

Convenience wrapper over compile_site_with_base_url with no base URL — no permalink: derivation happens on staged content. The full build pipeline calls compile_site_with_base_url with the configured base_url instead (spec A2/B1, plan §2 item 1.2).
